Definitely only by the minority. The majority couldn't give fewer fucks about the trackers. And if they were told directly "trackers will help make the guides that you will use" - they'd all be for it.

As low as possible.

Cast some self buff and pull him towards me. He's going down.

@Azherae could the value be lower if gold acquisition was way slower? We know that gold only comes from trading in the certificates and from castle taxes (cause node ones stay within the system). So what if the certificates from all levels of mobs were traded for the same amount of gold? Certificates would have to stop dropping after a few levels difference between the player and the mob, so that high lvl players couldn't just grind low lvl mobs. So the gold value of any mob would be the same, while the mats value would get higher throughout ...

Funny how you've listed 3 faction-based games. I'd be interested in hearing how "fun" your victims found those games, and more specifically the times when they were murdered by the opposing faction with 0 punishment for their killers. The whole point of the corruption system is to move all that "random" pvp into more meaningful and goal-based places/situations. Because in most cases, if you get randomly attacked while you're minding your own business, you probably didn't want to be attacked. Now Steven doesn't want to completely remove PKing, because he knows that sometimes you "just gotta", but random meaningless ...

Those dungeons are supposed to be non-repeatable. So out of hundreds, and potentially thousands, of hours of gameplay, you'd maybe spend a few dozen in instances. If that even.

I'd definitely go with a purely MP-based system. Give all archs some way to "burn" mana of the opponent and give 2 archs the means to restore it for others (not themselves, outside of regen buffs). Imo that would add way more fun pvp content and would be way easier to balance and control. If you have resources that would require you to get hit or hit your target (iirc wow rage worked like that), the pvp would just become a Benny Hill simulator with a few CCs in-between running. Yes, you'd have some way to get that resource ...

Unless that's something from the newer updates, the only "weapon" that would fit that description afaik is the Cursed weapons. They're 2 items that make you permacorrupted while you have them, they give you big stats that grow with your PK count and you drop them on death if someone manages to kill you. But those aren't considered "legendary" and they aren't permanent like a normal item is.

Ahh, I can already see the future 170+++ pages of nonsensical pointless arguments about nothing and everything DPS megathread 2: meter boogaloo

Only the killer gets corruption.

I hope that action shots have a higher range of attack than tab ones.

Loved it. Speed is good. Tab/action differences looked nice. One hope for more differences is action attacks having longer range than tab ones.

I'd love this, though I'm not sure how visible this would be in game.

Imo it'd depend on how action flagging and fights between 2 purples will work. If, when I press ctrl+f+atk on a basic action swing, I hit everyone in the cone of attack - I'd want arrows to work in the same way. And then if we can hit purples/reds w/o that combination of buttons - I'd like arrows to fly through greens when I, as a purple, just do a general attack in some direction (be it mob or another purple/red). In L2 you had to keep holding down ctrl (forced atk modifier) if you wanted to keep attacking ...

Nah, I meant, like, literally visible. Unless you put the camera right into your character's face - ya ain't seeing shit. And any body tattoos/scars/etc will be covered by clothes.

Unless I'm missing something here, you have literally described the system they showcased in yesterday's stream.

Well that's where you're factually wrong. We gamers are RGB kind of entities. We're the rainbow itself

Make it in-game earnable cosmetics and available to anyone and everyone and we're good. No matter how well Rangers are "in tune with nature", if I see snow falling I'd think to myself "oh, I should put on smth white so that I blend in with the bg better".

As opposed to the other 2 comments, I'd like to thank devs for keeping with their vision of hybrid combat

And again, literally in that same stream Steven said, when talking about the action camera, "you can change this keybind" (when he was talking about rmb being the "choose target" button).

You can already attack with Q so I see no reason for why you couldn't just rebind your mouse. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxNttNHDjICkoBeqgWr_VWfmvOAWWXg_LT

Yep, I was just about to write pretty much exactly this. I do hope they manage to keep their current design direction of "not everything is gatherable" while having some good indicators of what is (considering the "no sparkles" quote from the video).

I prefer having dmg mitigation abilities and other defensive stuff that would help me avoid death. Also, a single mob type doesn't indicate a general pattern of design. These shamans might have tracking magic missiles while some other mob might have a faster flying action magic missile. Also, we don't know how exactly the terrain interaction will work with tab targeted abilities. If we can break the cast, or just make it fail, by going behind a cover - you'll be able to use dodges to avoid dmg. And on top of that you'll have i-frames on some dodge ...

I mean, to me, that aerial attack looked way more "explosive" than some sliding around like a breakdancer. The speed of the combat seems good and they've shown perfect representation of Ranger's skillset. There was a long slow but powerful charged shot, a super fast low but rising dmg triple shot and that aerial attack showed the "explosiveness" and the potential for mobility. Imo this was a much much better showcase of what the archetype will be than what we saw with the previous combat showcase.

One of the main inspirations for the game is Lineage 2. And there you HAD to be in a group to be able to do any meaningful pvp. Solo pvp was utter trash. So if anything, I'd say that it's way more likely that we'll mainly see party vs party pvp rather than solo one. And arenas will just have RPS balancing, just as Solmyr said.

I think it's the classic "most people will never understand that it's an alpha". As much as we and/or Intrepid want to show the most current development of things, the masses, that would see those things on smth like Asmon's stream or those who just get recommended clips from the stream, would just complain that "this shit looks unfinished and/or broken". Especially when you consider that most clips are usually torn out of Steven's double, or sometimes triple, context of "THIS IS AN ALPHA, YOU DUMBFUCKS, WE'RE TESTING UNFINISHED SHIT" (I'm obviously paraphrasing here, but the core message of ...

I think it's just Steven's manner of speaking. Maybe it comes from his salesman days or just his own inherent character, but he quite often likes to hype stuff up even if that stuff isn't all that hype. And in cases like these, he uses language that could be seen as teasing smth or just withholding info to build anticipation. I personally think that the team just said "we're not ready to show that yet, but we're working on it", and with previously stated promises of "archetypes will be shown before/during alpha2" (iirc), I'd assume that in Steven's mind ...
